In Liberia, hundreds took to the streets on Thursday, angry over perceived corruption in President Joseph Boakai’s government and democratic backsliding in the West African country. Critics also accuse Boakai of economic mismanagement. Protesters say they are concerned about the rising cost of living, alleged police misconduct and political pressure on opposition voices.
