    • EVA Air will debut its upgraded premium economy cabin on a new Dallas–Taiwan route launching in October.
    • The new seats offer more space, personal entertainment, and eco-friendly amenities to enhance comfort on long-haul flights.

    EVA Air is about to make getting to Taiwan a whole lot more comfortable with plans to introduce its redesigned premium economy seats on the soon-to-launch new route from Dallas to Taiwan.

    The premium seats will be available on flights between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) when it launches in October, EVA Air shared with Travel + Leisure. This will mark the first time the Taiwanese airline will fly its revamped premium economy cabin in the United States after revealing it earlier this year.

    The new cabin configuration features 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout with a cradle-style recline design to maximize personal space. Each seat has a 15.6-inch HD touchscreen, a 42-inch seat pitch, adjustable tray tables specially designed to fit digital devices, and privacy panels (a lifesaver, especially on long-haul flights). The airline has also introduced sustainable amenities, including eco-friendly double-sided blankets and bamboo fiber napkins to compliment its luxurious velvet slippers and gourmet snacks.

    EVA Air famously first introduced premium economy to its cabins in 1992.

    “This product evolution reflects our commitment to providing passengers with greater comfort and convenience, while addressing growing demand for a more spacious and refined long-haul travel experience,” Andrew Su, the executive vice president of EVA Air North America, said in a statement shared with T+L. “Dallas-Fort Worth is a vibrant hub with strong business and cultural ties to Asia, making it a fitting location to debut this upgraded offering.”

    When the new route launches, it will make EVA Air the first Asian carrier to serve two cities in Texas, complimenting its current route from Houston, according to the airline. Initially, EVA Air will operate the Dallas route three times per week on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft before increasing to five times per week starting Nov. 18 and expanding to daily service on Dec. 15.

    EVA Air celebrates Taiwan on its flights, offering fare from beloved soup dumpling institution Din Tai Fung in its business class cabins on flights from Taipei to several U.S. cities, including Seattle, Houston, and Los Angeles. The airline also earned top honors at this year’s Skytrax World Airline Awards when it was named the cleanest airline in the world as well as lauded for having the best economy class onboard catering.

    Beyond Texas, EVA Air operates flights to several other North American destinations, including Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Vancouver.
