“We are overwhelmed in a good way,” Moretz says while sitting in the hair and makeup chair in the couple’s suite at Le Bristol, just before seeing her completed wedding and after-party dresses for the first time. “This will be our third fitting. We did our first fitting, which was just the toile—which is just the outline and shape—and then we did our secondary fitting, and that was like 98%, and then today will be 100%. Completely finished, including veils.”

“I think that’s the moment that really makes it set in that it’s real,” Harrison adds.

In keeping with tradition, the brides aren’t going to see each other’s looks ahead of the wedding. “We’re doing all of this separately,” Moretz reiterates. “When we got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted to reach out to Nicolas [Ghesquière] and Louis Vuitton [to] see if he would be interested in making my wedding dress, and got a very overwhelmingly excited response from Nicolas that not only would he be willing to make my wedding dress but he also wanted to include Kate in that—and to make both of wedding dresses and our after-party looks. To include my fiancé and my partner in that, it just speaks very highly to Nicolas’s character, the community that he’s created at LV—it just feels really monumental in a way.”

Once hair and makeup are finished, Moretz and Harrison are joined by the close friends, Kiersey Clemons and Jessica Lucatorto, the latter of whom is also Harrison’s cousin, and the foursome hop into an SUV to head to the Louis Vuitton atelier. “I’m excited to see the shapes that you guys chose,” Clemons says on the short ride over.

“The biggest part of our relationship is our friendship and you really are who you keep around you… it influences you to such a degree,” Moretz professes to Harrison and the couple’s bridesmaids on the ride over to the atelier. “I feel really lucky to have you guys in my life, and I’m sure you feel the same…I love love!”

After ascending the staircase at the atelier, Moretz and Harrison are each taken into separate rooms to view their completed looks, starting with their after-party outfits. “Wow, oh my God—it’s so beautiful!,” Moretz says upon first seeing the look. “The color is just… it looks like ice cream or something. Like a confection! Originally, they talked about the after-party look being blue as well, but then, since the wedding dress is blue, they decided to have a white moment with the after-party look. I love it because you can see my tattoos peeking on the side.”

Moretz’s after-party look—a custom jacket and trousers—was inspired by a 2019 Louis Vuitton runway look. “I remember seeing the runway version, and it had this cowboy hat, and to 1756743291 see it created to my proportions, it’s just so beautiful. And a little bit of ‘Yee-haw, baby!’”
