Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Tate McRae and Conan Gray have been added to the lineup of artists performing at the 2025 MTV VMAs, hosted by LL Cool J, airing live from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT, for the first time on the CBS Television Network. It will be simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.

They join a lineup that includes previously announced performers Sabrina Carpenter, Ricky Martin (who will receive the VMAs’ first-ever Latin Icon Award), Busta Rhymes, J Balvin with DJ Snake, Alex Warren, Sombr and Mariah Carey, who will be the 2025 recipient of the Video Vanguard Award, given out annually as part of the MTV Video Music Awards.

Nominations for this year’s “VMAs” Social Categories, Best Group and Song of The Summer, will be revealed on Friday, Aug. 29.

Conan Gray will make his main stage debut with hit single “Vodka Cranberry” from his fourth studio album, Wishbone, released earlier this month. The 2020 MTV PUSH artist performed from the “VMAs” Extended Play stage in 2022.

Doja Cat returns to the stage for the first-ever televised performance of her new single “Jealous Type.” The 2021 “VMAs” host last appeared in 2023, performing a show-stopping medley of hits “Attention,” “Paint the Town Red” and “Demons.”

Jelly Roll, who appeared during the 2024 “VMAs” show open with Eminem, will perform and compete for his first-ever Moon Person, nominated in four categories including Best Alternative, Best Country and Best Hip-Hop.

Post Malone will return for his first performance since 2018 and celebrate 20 career nods, this year’s for Best Collaboration with Blake Shelton for “Pour Me A Drink.”

Tate McRae will make her first appearance on the “VMAs” main stage and celebrate four first-time nominations including Song of the Year (“Sports car”) and Best Pop Artist.

The 2025 show is being produced by Gunpowder & Sky, with Bruce Gillmer, Den of Thieves co-founder Jesse Ignjatovic and Barb Bialkowski as the telecast’s executive producers. Alicia Portugal is co-executive producer; Jackie Barba is executive in charge of production; Wendy Plaut is executive in charge of celebrity talent; and Lisa Lauricella is executive in charge of music talent.
