    A report by UK‑China Transparency (UKCT) has unveiled major challenges affecting students, scholars and institutions across the United Kingdom. Professors and students are facing on-going surveillance leading to pressure and even intimidation to conform to the Chinese government’s demands to steer clear of critical coverage and paint China in a positive light. For in-depth analysis and a deeper perspective, FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen welcomes Gregory Lee, Emeritus Professor at the University of St Andrews, Founding Professor of Chinese Studies and one of the contributors to the Cold Crisis report.
