For the past few weeks, the best dressed stars of the week list has revolved around looks that are airy, lightweight, and summery—but these last few days, stylish A-listers switched things up with designs that had much more sculpture to them. The most striking ensembles had a dash of edge and sense of severity to them, leaning on sharp cuts and three-dimensional constructions that make you look twice. This is the land of Hollywood red carpets, after all: What would top-tier celebrity dressing be without some drama?

Take the I Know What You Did Last Summer premiere in Los Angeles. Sarah Michelle Gellar—who starred in the original 1997 film, of course—turned heads in her flower petal-shaped Oscar de la Renta mini dress, while new era cast member Madelyn Cline opted for a pink Connor Ives with strategic ruching. Both looks felt summery, yet strong and architectural. Ditto for Emily Ratajkowski and her white Calvin Klein suit in New York City: The model refreshed the classic two-piece with a slimmer silhouette and high-buttoned collar.

It was also a stellar week for avant-garde maternity dressing. In Santa Monica, Rihanna dined at her favorite establishment—Giorgio Baldi, duh—wearing a white Alaïa hooded crop top and skirt that was perfect for exposing her baby bump. At the Fantastic 4 premiere in Australia, Vanessa Kirby went decidedly more demure in her black Balmain sheer maxi gown, though the transparent panelling was still sure to flaunt her bump, too. Both looks were prime examples that mom-to-be style can be both comfortable and extremely chic.

Which were your favorite celebrity looks this week? Vote below, and check back on Friday to see who Vogue readers crowned best dressed.
